POSITION:  ENVIRONMENTAL DRILLING and FIELD ASSISTANT

LOCATION:  Fort St. John, BC

We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Drilling and Field Assistant to assist field crews with operating a D-50 and Geoprobe tracked drilling machines, and assisting with environmental and archaeological assessments.  We are looking for the right candidate who is interested in learning to be a Drill Operator, and who enjoys crossing over to various disciplines, learning different skills, and working with a diverse team.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 0+ years of relevant experience – willing to train the right candidate with required competencies
  • Current Safety Tickets (preferred)
  • Valid Class 3 Driver’s License preferred (driver’s abstract required)
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Residency

Responsibilities

  • Assist with transporting, drilling, and maintaining environmental tracked drill for remediation/ sampling projects
  • Undertake assignments that may involve travel and periods of time away from home/ office
  • Working with a dynamic team of environmental professionals
  • Assist with operating a geo-probe unit to conduct environmental investigations, and assist with supporting other environmental consulting, engineering, corrective action, and construction programs
  • Assist with installing soil vapor probes, monitoring wells, prepacked wells, perform modcal and SPT sampling
  • Assist in the field on other environmental programs such as, soils, water quality, wildlife, stream, and archaeology assessments for forestry and energy projects
