LEVEL: Junior to Intermediate Available; Hourly, Full-time, Contract
LOCATION: Grande Prairie, AB and Fort St. John, BC Areas
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of a recognized Post Secondary institution or college in the field of Biology, Ecology, Geology or Environmental Sciences
- 2+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience (in oil and gas preferred)
- Professional designation preferred (i.e., P.Ag. or R.P.Bio.) or eligible to apply
- Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel and other MS Office programs
- Current Safety Tickets (i.e., First Aid, H2S) preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Residency

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Asist with building and maintaining positive client relationship with client representatives in the field
- Takes direction from and supports intermediate and senior staff to achieve project and business goals
- Assist with and/or lead field assessments as required on oil and gas facilities on crown land, including watercourse, wetland, vegetation, soil, timber, and wildlife assessments, including travel
- Undertake assignments that may involve travel and periods of time away from home/office, including baseline field studies, construction compliance monitoring, site reconnaissance, field biological surveys, client meetings, etc.
- Conduct day-to-day environmental inspections of construction sites
- Review and direct contractors in the installation of stream crossing structures, water quality and fish salvage, soil stripping, and sediment and erosion control activities
- Respond to environmental incidents
- Work with management and construction teams to confirm compliance with environmental best practices, commitments, permits, laws and regulations and develop recommendations to resolve non-conformances
- Interface with clients and staff to present environmental services related to industry and regulatory requirements
